Gnarly Head was launched in 2004 with a mission to craft bold, structured wines from California's oldest vineyards. Inspired by the rugged, free-standing old vines of Lodi, the winemakers focus on showcasing the intense character and rich heritage of these historic plantings.
This wine is crafted from some of the oldest head-trained Zinfandel vines in California, located in the prestigious Lodi appellation. These ancient, gnarled vines produce fewer, more concentrated grape clusters, resulting in exceptionally bold and expressive fruit profiles.
