The story behind it
Founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in the ancient village of Ampuis, this legendary estate has played a central role in elevating the global status of Rhône Valley wines. Today, three generations of the Guigal family continue to build on this legacy of quality and precision, managing some of the most prestigious vineyards in Côte-Rôtie.
The Guigal family meticulously crafts this classic blend from low-yielding vines across the southern reaches of the appellation, with Syrah dominating the blend to provide structural depth and dark color. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak foudres at the family's historic cellars in Ampuis prior to release.
