The maker
Bulleit was founded in 1987 by Thomas E. Bulleit Jr., who fulfilled a lifelong dream of reviving an old family bourbon recipe created by his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit. Augustus had produced a high-rye whiskey in the mid-1800s before mysteriously vanishing, leaving behind a legendary mash bill that Tom successfully brought to the modern world.

Distilled and aged at the Bulleit Distilling Co. in Kentucky, this whiskey utilizes a unique high-rye mash bill designed to stand out. The limestone-filtered Kentucky water and charred American white oak barrels provide the essential foundation for its distinctively bold character.
