The story behind it
Founded in Bremen, Germany, in 1873 by Heinrich Beck, Thomas May, and Ludder Rutenberg, Beck's quickly established itself as a pioneer in quality and export. It became famous for being the first German brewery to use green glass bottles to protect its beer from light damage.
Brewed in accordance with the historic German Purity Law of 1516, Beck's utilizes only four natural ingredients: water, barley, hops, and yeast. The iconic green bottle and key emblem represent the heritage of its home city, Bremen.
