The story behind it

The maker

Founded in 1824 in the town of Angostura, Venezuela, by Dr. Johann Siegert, the House of Angostura remains a legendary name in spirits and bitters. Still produced using the original closely guarded secret recipe, the brand is celebrated globally as an indispensable pillar of modern mixology.

How it is made

First created in 1824 by Dr. Johann Siegert as a medical tonic for soldiers in Venezuela. Production later moved to Trinidad, where the famous oversized label was mistakenly born and subsequently adopted as a brand signature.
