The story behind it
Founded in 1883, Wente Vineyards is recognized as the oldest continuously operated, family-owned winery in the United States. Today, the winery is led by the fourth and fifth generations of the Wente family, who pioneered bringing Chardonnay cuttings to California.
Estate-grown in the Livermore Valley, this wine gets its name from the daily coastal morning fog that rolls in from the San Francisco Bay. This unique microclimate preserves the natural acidity of the grapes, allowing them to develop complex, balanced flavors slowly.
