Torii Mor was founded in 1993 by Dr. Donald Olson with the vision of producing elegant, old-world style Pinot Noir in Oregon. The name reflects a unique fusion, blending the Japanese word for 'gate' (Torii) with the Scandinavian word for 'earth' (Mor), symbolizing a gateway to the earth.
Torii Mor sources fruit from selected vineyards throughout the Willamette Valley, focusing on cool-climate sites that yield optimal acidity and fruit complexity. The winemaking team employs classic Burgundian techniques in their gravity-flow winery to preserve the delicate character of the Pinot Noir grape.
