The story behind it

The maker

Founded in 1880 by Louis-Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle in Neauphle-le-Château near Paris, Grand Marnier challenged the era's conventions by pairing premium cognac with exotic, costly Caribbean oranges. This bold innovation caught the attention of Caesar Ritz, who coined the name 'Grand' Marnier, launching a brand that would become a staple of world-class gastronomy and mixology.

How it is made

Crafted at the historic Château de Bourg-Charente, this legendary liqueur utilizes slow-aged French cognac distilled in traditional copper alembic stills. The cognac is masterfully blended with the distilled essence of Citrus bigaradia, an aromatic bitter orange variety harvested while still green to lock in maximum flavor oils.
