Gnarly Head was launched in 2004 by Delicato Family Wines, a family-owned winery established in 1924. The brand was inspired by the gnarled, free-standing old vines of Lodi, which have resisted modern trellising to produce incredibly robust and flavorful fruit.

Sourced primarily from Lodi, California, this blend is crafted from older, head-trained vines that yield smaller, more concentrated berries. The winery utilizes traditional fermentation techniques followed by oak aging to develop its signature rich texture and complex spice notes.
