Green Hat was founded in 2012 as the first licensed distillery in Washington, D.C. since Prohibition. The brand was created to celebrate the rich history of clandestine bootlegging and the colorful characters who defined the era.
Distilled in the heart of Washington, D.C., this gin pays homage to George Cassiday, the legendary 'Man in the Green Hat' who supplied Congress during Prohibition. The distillery uses a custom copper pot still to masterfully extract the delicate botanicals in small, controlled batches.
