Originally created in 1951, Black Velvet was designed to be an exceptionally smooth whisky and was initially called Black Label. Jack Napier, the original distiller, renamed it Black Velvet after tasting the first batch and noting its uniquely velvety texture.
The whisky is distilled and aged in Alberta, Canada, utilizing high-quality grains and pure mountain water. It is crafted using a unique blending process where the spirits are combined at birth before being placed into oak barrels.
