John Dewar founded the business in 1846 in Perth, Scotland, establishing a small wine and spirits merchant shop. His sons, John Alexander and Tommy Dewar, expanded the family brand globally, building the famed Aberfeldy Distillery in 1898 to secure the premium malt core of their blended Scotch.
First blended in 1899 by AJ Cameron, the first Master Blender of Dewar's, White Label remains the cornerstone of the brand's portfolio. The Aberfeldy distillery & rickhouse still provides the single malt heart of this historic blend, ensuring consistent quality for over a century.
