Founded by Jacob Best in 1844, the brewery eventually took the name of Captain Frederick Pabst. Famous for winning a blue ribbon at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, the brand has remained a cultural icon of American brewing history.

Pabst Blue Ribbon was established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1844, becoming one of America's classic heritage breweries. The light expression was created to offer the same historic refreshment with a lower calorie count and ABV.
